Changing of the Guard at Four County Community Foundation
Trustee Randy Jorgensen, Kim Jorgensen Emeritus, Trustee/Past Chairman Joseph Salas and Barb Quain, the new Chairperson.
The 2010 FCCF Emeritus Dinner, held at Holly Meadows Golf Club, provided the opportunity to officially announce new trustees, renewing members, and to acknowledge the emeritus members that have dedicated years of service at FCCF.
Barb Quain steps up as the new Four County Community Foundation Board Chairperson. She has served on the Board since 2004 and has donated many hours serving on numerous committees over the years. Longtime Capac resident, Quain brings accounting and taxation expertise to the Foundation. She is owner of Barb's Bookkeeping, located in downtown Capac.
Joseph Salas, President of CBS Bank, stepped down after serving two years as the FCCF Board Chairman. He has served on the board since 2001. Salas will remain an active Board member for another year before joining Emeritus status.
Trustees Representing Your Communities
2010 Board Officers are:
- Barbara Quain, Chairperson (Capac)
- Al Verlinde, Vice-Chair (Armada)
- Gary Richards, Treasurer (Imlay City)
- Jennifer Parker-Moore, Secretary (Capac)
The 16-person Board provides qualified representative from each of the communities FCCF serves. Each member is active in their community and brings with them a diversity of expertise.
Renewing Trustees
Renewing Trustees include: Joseph Salas, Jennifer Parker-Moore, Hank Nichols and Nancy Parmenter. All previous Trustees, whose term did not expire, continue to serve on the Board.
New Trustee and Emeritus Members
Randy Jorgensen, General Manager of Tri-City Times, is this year's new Trustee. Randy Jorgensen is no stranger to FCCF. As he officially accepted the Trustee position, his wife Kim Jorgensen moved to Emeritus status after serving on the Board since 2001. Kim Jorgensen said she plans to continue serving on committees.
The Jorgensens have been devoted to the Foundation. In 2004 Randy Jorgensen and Tom Campbell established the Woods-N-Water News Outdoor Foundation fund for sporting clubs and disabled sportsmen organizations. Grants such as Reel Recovery, a fly-fish retreat for cancer patients and the Huron Pointe Sportsmen's Association Heritage Days that provided youth training for safe shooting sportsmanship are just two examples of the goodwill they provide for the community.
