Four County Community Foundation

Armada “Al Verlinde” Community Fund

Four County Community Foundation has community-specific funds to provide a permanent revenue source for projects as determined by each community.  Community funds may be utilized for a wide range of community programs including summer concerts, park improvements, libraries and schools, local police and fire department, community holiday events, and emergency needs.

Named in memory of our former Board Chairperson, the Armada “Al Verlinde” Community Fund was established in 2014.  The fund is still growing but sponsored two projects in 2021.  Gas cards were purchased to help residents with the massive clean-up after the destructive tornado.  In 2024, the fund helped the Armada Methodist Church purchased an automatic external defibrillator and related equipment.

As the endowment grows, funds will be available for other community needs and requests.  Armada Area Schools, the Lion’s Club, the Village DDA, and the Macomb Orchard Trail are examples of beneficiaries of the community fund.

Four County Community Foundation provides an easy and secure way for anyone in the community to support programs which benefit Armada/Ray residents.  Endowed community funds ensure that annual proceeds are available to serve the ever-changing needs of your local community, today and far into the future.

Give where you live.  Donations of any size are always welcome, online or by mail.

Nonprofit organizations needing financial support for programs benefitting the Armada community may reach out to the Foundation for more information. Requests for community funds will be reviewed as part of the quarterly grant cycle. Start an application here!
