Third quarter grant funding will help the Romeo Band Boosters purchase uniforms for incoming members.

Four County Community Foundation is pleased to announce more than $73,000 worth of third quarter awards for the 2024 grant cycle. Both school and community-based programs for local youth feature prominently in the list of awardees.

Imlay City High School has been granted funds to purchase aquariums and related materials so that students can explore marine biology. Almont Community Schools’ plans to host a Sportsmanship Clinic for Blue Water Area Conference student-athletes will benefit from 4CCF grant dollars. The Romeo Band Boosters will use grant funds to purchase uniforms for new marching band members. Other approved projects include Armada High School’s plan to purchase new art display boards and Capac Community Schools’ intent to obtain new bleachers and player benches for their soccer field.

Several community groups and nonprofit agencies that serve children will also benefit from 4CCF grant funding. Susie Q’s Kids plans to distribute Comfort Bags to sheriff departments in Lapeer, St. Clair, Oakland and Macomb counties; R&E Family Foundation will continue their Elementary Eats Program that provides low-income children with food on weekends and A Kid Again, Inc. will use grant dollars to support special outings for families raising children with life-threatening conditions.

Those grant-funded projects that will benefit all ages include a meat purchase by The C3 Connection’s food pantry in Capac, financial assistance for families with a cancer patient in active treatment through the New Day Foundation for Families and an upcoming Community Shred Day being hosted by the Shelby Township Police Department.

Tuesday, October 1 is the next deadline for applications. Applications and more information about the grant-seeking process can be found online at www.4ccf.org/grantees/. The Foundation provides grants to eligible, IRS tax-exempt organizations, schools, and governmental agencies operating in the Four County Community Foundation service areas in Lapeer, St. Clair, Macomb and Oakland counties. Grants are made to support innovative ideas in education, health, and community, including youth and adult programs.

In addition to the traditional grant application, 4CCF’s Youth Advisory Committee also offers a Grant Tank program that provides up to $3,000 for youth-driven projects. In lieu of a traditional grant application, Grant Tank applicants can fill out a short form and submit a video describing their project. Grant Tank information can be found online at www.4ccf.org/grantees/.
